Stop by Maumee Senior Center to view our first ever Art Show featuring Maumee Senior Center artists. Since September 2021, the Maumee Senior Center has offered Art Classes twice a week with Art Instructor Mary Jane Erard.
MSC Senior Art Show Grand Opening:
Tuesday, May 3rd from 2-4 p.m.
Show continues throughout May.
This event is free and open to the public.
“Our classes at the Senior Center have some of the most talented students and people who’ve only started creating in the last 8 months” Mary Jane says. “No matter their skill level, each student has fostered a great kinship with their fellow classmates. It’s an amazing atmosphere of friendship and creativity.”
Art Students at the Maumee Senior Center ages range from 50-80 years old and approximately 15 of them will have their artwork featured in this art show.
“After pretty much sitting at home for 2 years, I decided to get out into the community” Joann Firsdon said. “I am so glad I joined the Art Classes at the Maumee Senior Center because not only has Mary Jane introduced us to all forms of painting such as oils, acrylics, water colors and pastels, but the best part has been learning from one another and the opportunity to make new friends.”
“The talent that these individuals have just blows me away” says Program Coordinator, Tiffany Peet. “We are excited to expose the community to the level of talent this demographic has!”
